Ranthambore Safari Timings is one of the world renowned National Park to spot Royale Bengal Tigers in its natural habitat. The possibility of spotting a tiger in wild at Ranthambore national park is much more when compared to many other national parks of India. Ranthambore is merging point of Aravali and Vindhya ranges. All safari zone (from zone 1 to zone 10) can be visited by jeep while canter is allowed in zone 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 10. In zone 7 , 8 and 9 canter is not allowed. Guest have option to visit multiple times a particular safari zone or they may visit multiple zone during their stay at Ranthambore.

Timings for entry into, and exit from, the park vary according to the season. In winters, due to the shorter duration of daylight hours, the morning entry time is later and evening exit time is earlier.

Ranthambore National Park Safari Zones

The Park is divided into 10 zones out of which 10 zones are open for the public to explore. Zone 1 to zone 5 has the highest possibilities to spot a tiger amidst beautiful landscape and the fort which falls under zone 3 and zone 5. The best zones to explore during your wildlife safari in Ranthambore would be any zone 2,3,4,5,6. However, zone 3 is most famous among visitors. Every zone has different safari prices and can also be declined on the non-availability of seats.

Zones Description
Zone 1 The Singh Dwar is the main entrance to this zone. This area is a protected area nestling T-39 and T-57. The zone is majorly known for the return of Noor (T-39) along with her 3 cubs, which were in the news for sighting several times between 2016 and 2017. Amreshwar Dang, Tuti ka Nalla, Sultanpur, Gada Dub, and Peela Pani are the other significant places where tigers can be spotted in this zone.
Zone 2 This is the only zone that has water holes due to which tigers in good numbers sighted in this region. The tigers reported in this area are T19, T22, T72, T57, T28, T60, T39. Phuta Bandha, Jogi Mahal, Phuta Kot, Lahpur Tiraha, and Nal Ghati are the essential points where tigers can be sighted in this zone. Leopards have also reported in the area.
Zone 3 The key points for tiger sighting in this zone are Raj Bagh, Padam Talab,  Mandook, Jogi Mahal, and High Point. Here you can also get an opportunity to see action between T-19 and T-28.
Zone 4 This zone was earlier a home to the famous tigress of Ranthambore, i.e., Machli. After her death, other big cats spotted in this region are T-28, T-64, T-19, T-75, T-41 and T-25. The important points famous for tiger sighting in this zone are – Adidaant, Singh Dwar, Tamakhan, Lakkad Da, Lambi, Malik Talab, and Berda.
Zone 5 Zone 4 and Zone 5 share a few things in common such as entry gate and tigers and sighting spots. The tigers spotted here are T-74, T-75, T-28, T-25, and T-17. The important points of this zone are Jokha, Singh Dwar, Dhakda, Baghda, Anatpur, Bakola, and Kachida.
Zone 6 Zone 1 and zone 6 share the same boundary and hence T-39 (Noor) with her cubs sighted in this zone too. This region is entirely different from the above 5 zones having more beautiful landscapes with mountains in backdrop and animals roaming in open grasslands.
Zone 7 This zone has fewer points in comparison to other zones named as Jamoda, Kushalipura, Chidikho, and Rajbagh Naka. The tigers spotted in this region are T-34 and T-8.
Zone 8 The big cats, T-8 and T-34, are spotted in this region, which is seen in Zone 7 too. The important points of this region are Bhat, Balas, Mahakho, Kherai, Neemli Dang, and Kali.
Zone 9 Other than T-59, this zone is famous for nestling T-42 (Fateh), which is an aggressive male tiger known for once chasing the forest department vehicles and captured killing a Sloth bear on trap cams. It homes other various rich biodiversities such as Aquatic birds, Caracals, and Sloth bears.
Zone 10 The tigers spotted here are T-43, T-13, and T-42. The important points where the tigers can be sighted are Banskhori, Bodal, Kushalipura, Aantri, and Halonda. It is advisable to the tourists to choose any zone available and enjoy the right seeing of the beautiful landscape.


Types of Safari in Ranthambore National Park:

There are two types of Safari available in Ranthambore National Park:
- Jeep Safari – Exploring jungle via open-jeep referred as jeep Safari. A Jeep is a small vehicle that can accommodate 6-8 people at once.
- Canter Safari – Safari done via Canter in Jungle is known as Canter safari. Canter is a larger vehicle in which 20 people can sit at once.

Ranthambore Safari Booking
• Total 15 Gypsys and 20 Canters are allowed inside the park at any time.
• Only 4 jeeps are allowed on a particular route.
• Best time: Morning hours or Evening hours.
• One must carry Valid Photo ID proof. Foreign nationals must carry their passports.
• ID Proof photocopies are required at the time of reporting.
• Advance booking will be enabled 120 days in advance.
• Video Camera cost Rs.400 extra.
• No fee charges for still camera
• Gypsy is preferable over Canter so huge demand for Gypsy during Safari.
• Two Safaris are available per day.

Best Time to visit Ranthambore National Park:
The Ranthambore National Park remains open from October to June.
However, March to June is considered the best time for sighting Bengal Tigers as they come out of their den to stay hydrated all day due to hot weather. Temperature can go as high as 45 degrees during these months. Winter season between November to February is great for seeing different species of birds due to pleasant and calm weather. The temperature between these months ranges from 10-30 degree.
As the monsoon is the breeding season, the Park remains closed from July to September.

How To Reach Ranthambore
By Air: The nearest airport is Sanganer airport in Jaipur, which is about 180 kms and 3:30 Hour drive from the Ranthambore. Jaipur is well connected to New Delhi and Mumbai with daily flights operated by domestic airlines. The flying distance from Jaipur to Delhi is thirty minutes and from Mumbai to Jaipur is one hour & thirty minutes.
By Rail: Sawai Madhopur is on the main railway line between Delhi and Mumbai and is also well connected to Jaipur. There are regular super fast trains like Jan Shatabdi, Rajdhani between these destinations. The travel time from Sawai Madhopur to Jaipur is approximately two hours and thirty minutes, to Delhi is 5 hours and to Mumbai is around fifteen hours.
By Road: Sawai Madhopur is about 3:30 Hour away from Jaipur, 6 Hour away from Agra and 8 Hour away from Dehli. All are connected through national highway.
