Delhi Airport Information, Indira Gandhi International Airport, named after the former prime minister, is located 23km south of the bustling city centre. The 24-hour airport operates both domestic and international airplanes to important cities not only in India but other parts of the world.
The airport is located 16km from the Kashmere Gate ISBT where you would be able to take state buses and private buses to major cities of North India. If you’re heading to major railheads of India, head to the New Delhi railways station located 21.7km away.
Terminals
The International Terminal which operates 35 airlines flying to many major cities around the globe. The Domestic Airport is segmented into three terminals - Terminal 1A, Terminal 1B and the Domestic Arrival Terminal (ID). All terminals are open 24 hours and have services and facilities to make it convenient for all passengers traveling through the airport. There are information counters available in all terminals, making it convenient for passengers to gain 24-hour information and assistance.
sIf you’re planning on heading to other cities across India, head to Terminal 3 which is apparently the 8th largest airport in the world. Domestic airlines like Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and Air India run from here to other major cities in the country. A free shuttle bus is available to transfer passengers between the International and Domestic Terminals. A golf cart service is also available for transfers between domestic terminals.
