Savitri Mata Temple
The Savitri Temple is one of the most famous pilgrimage places to visit in Pushkar. As the name indicates, this temple is dedicated to Gayatri, the distressed wife of Lord Brahma. One needs to reach the Ratnagiri hilltop to by climbing approximately 200 stairs to reach this temple.
However, one can also take the help of the ropeway to reach the temple. The story behind this temple is that Goddess Gayatri rested here on her visit to Pushkar. This temple is also known for its architectural and scenic beauty.
Old Rangji Temple
Located in the Chotti Basti, this temple is a fine example of South Indian architecture. The walls at the temple are adorned with sculptures of Hindu gods and people. There are small arches too around the temple that have decorative inscriptions. There is also a stupa on the temple premises.
Gurdwara Singh Sabha
This Sikh temple is one of the most beautiful ones in Pushkar. You are only allowed to enter in if you cover your head. They give you a shawl or a cloth to cover your head free of cost. Inside the temple is a friendly guru who is always meditating and chants prayers that are soothing for the soul.
On Sunday, they have a langar (free kitchen) where they serve delicious vegetarian food to everyone who visits the temple.
Pushkar Lake
A must visit spot for all tourists, the Pushkar lake is historic. There are around 52 bathing ghats near the river that are visited by thousands of devotees. During the holy occasion of Kartik Poornima, locals as well as devotees from across the country visit Pushkar to take a holy dip in the Pushkar Lake.
Surrounding the lake are many temples that are worth visiting if you are looking for peace and silence or love Indian architecture.
Man Mahal
Located near the Sarovar lake, the Man Mahal was a former palace that has now been converted into a guest house. The palace has beautiful architecture, in typical Rajasthani style and offers great views of the area.
