Same Day Visit Of Bhangarh Fort From Jaipur

Bhangarh Fort, Alwar –

The stories of haunted forts in India is nothing new, we have grown up on them. However, the fort which symbolizes such haunted tales is Bhangarh Fort. Located at the border of the Sariska Tiger Reserve in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, this 17th century fort is infamously known as the “most haunted place in India”. Visitors to the fort attest to ghostly sightings and unnatural experiences within its compounds, and the stories of its being haunted are so widespread and believed that villages have sprung up quite far from the fort itself. The ASI, or the Archeological Survey of India, has, on its part, forbidden the locals, as well as the visitors, from visiting the fort at night.

 Legends behind the Bhangarh Fort
There are several legends surrounding the eeriness of the Bhangarh Fort.  According to one legend, a king named Madho Singh built the fort after obtaining permission from an ascetic who laid down the condition that the shadow of the fort must never fall on his house. However, one of the successors of Madho Singh increased the size of the fort vertically, thereby enveloping the ascetic’s house in its shadow. As a consequence, the fort soon met its destruction and was abandoned in no time.

According to the second legend, a local black magician was supposedly bewitched by the beauty of Princess Ratnavati of Bhangarh. To possess her, he cast a spell over a certain cosmetic she was supposed to use. However, the princess soon discovered his plan, and poured the entire cosmetic upon a massive stone boulder. This boulder then crushed the princess to death. However, before breathing his last, he cursed the entire place, saying that not a soul would ever reside there in peace. The entire surroundings around the Bhangarh Fort have been haunted ever since, or so it’s believed.

Architectural significance
Bhangarh Fort is situated at the edge of a vast green expanse of Sariska Tiger Reserve between Alwar and Jaipur, with a close proximity to Delhi, too. The fort bears close resemblance to the medieval city of Shahjahanabad. It consists of four massive gates in every direction. The premises of the fort consist of a miniature waterfall, along with temples, which lend an air of tranquility to the entire surroundings. Remnants of once existing palaces can also be found inside the fort, they are indicative of the fort’s prosperity during its glorious days. Clearly, the fort’s popularity doesn’t need to rest on the haunted stories surrounding it, it is an architectural marvel in itself.

Visit City Palace Of Jaipur

City Palace, Jaipur,  is a palace complex in Jaipur, the capital of the Rajasthan state.  It was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the head of the Kachwaha Rajput clan.  The palace complex, located northeast of the centre of the grid-patterned Jaipur city, incorporates an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings. The palace was built between 1729 and 1732, initially by Sawai Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amber. He planned and built the outer walls, and later additions were made by successive rulers continuing up to the 20th century. The credit for the urban layout of the city and its structures is attributed to two architects namely, Vidyadhar Bhattacharya, the chief architect in the royal court and Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob, apart from the Sawai himself who was a keen architectural enthusiast. The architects achieved a fusion of the Shilpa Shastra of Indian architecture with Rajput, and Mughal

History of City Palace :-

The history of the palace is intertwined with the history of the great city of Jaipur itself. The City palace used to be the throne of the Maharaja of Jaipur, head of the Kachwaha Rajput Clan. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh was the force behind the initiation of the Palace’s construction when he began shifted the capital from Amber to Jaipur in the year 1727. He then began building the outer wall sometime during the years 1729 to 1732, such that it ran over to several acres through the city.

Architecture of City Palace :-

The architectural style of the City Palace was a fusion of the Shilpa Shastra of Indian Architecture along with Rajput, Mughal and European styles. The main architects for the construction of the palace were Vidyadhar Bhattacharya and Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob. Classical Indian principles such as the Vastushastra were promptly followed by the architects during the construction of the palace. It was built using red and pink sandstone and has three gates, namely ‘Tripolia Gate’, ‘Udai Pol’, ‘Virendra  Pol’. The entrances themselves are decorated intricately with the finest handiwork and are a suitable preamble to what lies inside. The palace complex is designed in the form of a grid and has a number of structures within its bounds such as ‘Chandra Mahal’, ‘Govind Dev Ji Temple’, ‘Mubarak Mahal’, and ‘Diwan-I-Khas’. Murals, mosaics, honeycomb window panes and meticulous stonework make the Palace a perfect blend of design, art, colour and culture.

Visit Samode Jaipur

Rajasthan’s nomenclature is perhaps the best one, the most appropriate in the Indian states. It’s the land of the royals, and nothing bears more testimony to that fact than the numerous tourist destinations scattered throughout its area, full of gorgeous palaces and temples and forts and the like. Now among it all is the little paradise called Samode, and it is one which showcases all the traditional attractions like temples by the dozen, mansions that are palatial and eye catching gardens. As an added bonus, it also offers a glimpse into the workings of its day to day commerce through the very many shopping areas close by. Samode is situated in the royal Indian state of Rajasthan around 42 km from Jaipur, the capital city. Located on way to Shekhawati, this small village is famous for its haveli and fort

Samode History :-

Unlike the other havelis of Rajasthan, the Samode Palace does not belong to any royal family but a family of noblemen, the Rawals of Samode. It is about four hundred years old, and has some new additions and modifications. This family traces its descent to Prithvi Singh of Amber (1503-1528), the seventeenth prince of the house of Kachwaha Rajputs, who in turn trace their descent to Lord Rama. Gopal Singh, one of the 12 sons of Prithvi Singh, was given Samode, which owed loyalty to the rulers of Amber and Jaipur. These noblemen of Samode were bestowed the title of ‘Maha Rawal’, in place of just ‘Rawal’ by the royal family for their bravery and loyalty towards the royal family.

Places To Visit  –

Samode Fort :-

In true royal traditional tourism style, very symbolic of Rajasthan, this list kicks off with a fort at the beginning. Strong, old, and magnificently built, this fort is situated high on a hilltop where the view it affords can look down on miles all around below in every direction. Samode Fort was used for lodging by Rawals, as a lot of heritage nowadays is used here for lodging tourists by hotel chains. It showcases Mughal architecture, and was considered useful in war times. A must visit for tourists to Samode.

Samode Palace :-

This palace is another heritage architecture gem in Samode’s kitty. Built in bright colours, this is aesthetic enough to have earned places in both nationally and internationally acclaimed movies. It has different art styles inside it, like frescoes, paintings and sculpture. It also shows dual architectural styles, Rajput, Mughal, and is excellently photogenic. Samode Palace is a little way off from Pink City Jaipur.

Samode Bagh  :-

A bagh refers to a garden in traditional language translation, and this garden is truly the material to rival garden bigwigs like those in Jammu Kashmir. It is expansive and beautiful with flower species, and offers accommodation, food and hospitality to guests in natural environs. Samode Bagh is situated in former stable grounds of the empire and displays beautiful Mughal art. There are tents aplenty round the premises, which showcases attractions inside that are Mughal style influenced.
