The Indian government established the park as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in 1955. In 1973, it was accorded the status of a tiger reserve forest. Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary and Keladevi Sanctuary are the adjacent forests incorporated into the tiger reserve area of Ranthambore Park.
The Ranthambore national park derived its name from the historic Ranthambore Fort inside the park. Van Ki Asha or Banas River in the north and Chambal River in the south surround the park, which borders Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

- You need a valid Photo ID and have to mention your full name while booking online Safari.

There are a total 10 Safari zones in Ranthambore National Park for the visitors to enjoy the lush wilderness. All the zones in Ranthambore have Tiger territories so it’s a misconception that you will spot tigers only in zones 1to 5.
