Prashar Lake: The Lake of Crystal

Parashar Lake One of the most offbeat places in Himachal Pradesh, The lake is located at the height of 2730 m above sea level with deep blue waters and holds a saintly position there. Bounded by mighty Dhauladhar ranges in Kullu Valley,. It is surrounded by snow-topped peaks and looks down on the fast flowing river Beas. The temple was built in the thirteenth century, and its construction comes under the light of a vague myth. The lake has a floating island in it, and its actual depth is unclear.

Its lush green valleys, interspersed with rivers and lakes offer one of the most scenic and enjoyable trekking experiences.

Best time to visit Prashar Lake

The best time to trek to the Prashar lake is from December – February. During these months the lake and the trail will be carpeted with snow giving you postcard-worthy shots and an otherworldly feel of the Narnian land. I did the trek in the middle of February with day time temperatures soaring up to a comfortable 12-13 degrees (if the sun gods are pleased), and falling to 0-1 degree at night.
