By Air
Situated at a distance of 210 kms, Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun is the closest alternative for tourists to travel to Yamunotri via air. Taxis to the next nearest stop, Hanuman Chatti, are available at the Jolly Grant airport. One can even book a helicopter for a direct flight from the airport to Yamunotri.
By Road
The state of Uttarakhand is well connected by roads to all the major tourist destinations. However, the trek towards the sacred place of Yamunotri commences from Hanuman Chatti. Taxis and buses to Hanuman Chatti run in abundance from Rishikesh, Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Tehri.
By Rail
Being the capital of Uttarakhand, Dehradun is easily commutable via rail from all the major cities of India. Pilgrimages travelling to Yamunotri can take the rail route as the nearest station is Dehradun. Apart from that, one can also avail rail services till Rishikesh. On reaching Dehradun or Rishikesh, one can travel to Hanuman Chatti in taxis and buses.
