Soham Heritage Art Centre
Soham Heritage and Art Centre is located in Kashi Devasthanam which is some 3 km away from Mussoorie. It is a socio-cultural hub owned and managed by Dr. Kavita Shukla and Mr. Sameer Shukla. The organization works towards the promotion of spirituality, educational empowerment of the poor and underprivileged children, and preservation of art and heritage of Uttarakhand.
In Soham Heritage and Art Centre, the history, culture and traditions of the people of Uttarakhand have been displayed through works of art. There are paintings, photographs, sculptures, frescoes, artifacts and handicrafts showing the religion, culture, lifestyles, fairs and festivals of Garhwal and Kumaon regions. In the premises of Kashi Devasthanam, the spiritual angle has been added with the Chamunda Peeth Temple. The temple offers a place of worship, yoga and meditation.
Best Time To Visit
The journey of Soham Heritage and Art Centre can be done throughout the year, but the best time to visit here is between the months of October to May. Travelling here in these months is the best and enjoyable. During the winter season, the weather of here is cold. Due to snowfall on the surrounding hills in the winter season, the temperature of here goes down very much. Due to heavy rains in the rainy season, it is a bit difficult to travel of here because of heavy rains.
How To Reach Soham Heritage & Art Centre
Soham Heritage & Art Centre is located in the Chamunda Peeth Road, which is merely 3 kms away from Library Chawk in Mussoorie. You can opt to hire local rickshaws to reach the centre if you are close. If you are farther away, you can also hire auto rickshaws. If not, there is the facility of private taxi cabs available, right from your place of stay to the destination.
