Day 1 : Delhi - Haridwar
After an early breakfast, leave for Haridwar which is 240 kms from Delhi and about a 5-6 hours drive. Reach Haridwar in the afternoon. A visit to Har ki Pauri and the city of Haridwar. Evening attend the Arti at the ghats. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2 : Haridwar Local Excursions
Rise early in the morning and join the group for its trip to the Har Ki Pauri again for the morning Aarti, conducted with the same religious fervor as the evening Aarti but different as you watch the sun rise over the Ganges. The group proceeds for breakfast and thus fortified sets out on local excursions to the famed temples. Mansa Devi temple is popular because the Devi grants wishes. The other temples you will visit are all associated with some legend or the other such as the Chandi Devi temple, Sapth Rishi Temple, Doodhadhari Barfani Temple, the Sureshwari Devi Temple, Parad Shivling and Pawan Dham. After this we go over to Patanjali Yogpeeth and Anandamayi Maa Ashram. The evening is free to explore Bara Bazaar chock full of stalls selling religious mementoes.
Day 3 : Haridwar – Rishikesh
After breakfast the group sets out for Rishikesh where you check into your hotel. Afterwards we set out on a visit to local temples and attractions starting with Neelkanth Mahadev Temple. Ram is said to have done penance here to atone for the sin of killing Ravana, a Brahmin and Lakshman stayed with him, building the Lakshman Jhula that, along with Ram Jhula, are quite popular with devotees. Take a walk along Triveni Ghat and watch pilgrims bathing in the Ganga, washing away their sins. Bharat Mandir is another ancient landmark temple you must visit while here. Since Rishikesh is the city of ashrams you might want to drop in at the Swarg Ashram and the Gita Bhavan to round off the visit to Rishikesh.
Day 04 : Rishikesh – Delhi
After breakfast guests have the option of exploring local attractions or going in for river rafting. Rishikesh is also famous for being the starting point to camping and adventure activities and rafting on the Ganges can be quite exhilarating. As the shadows lengthen you pack your bags and board the coach for the return drive to Delhi as the curtain descends on a lovely tour you will remember for life.
