Day 01: Arrive - Delhi
On arrival at Delhi airport/railway station, our Rajasthan Tour Planner tour representative would be escorting you to a pre-booked hotel. You would be spending the rest of the day at leisure. The metropolitan city of Delhi has so many world-class shopping malls and eating joints. Feel free to explore them in the evening. Besides, Delhi is also known for its vibrant street markets. If you wish, you can try mouth-watering, spicy street food at these markets.
Day 02: Delhi sightseeing
The capital city of India, Delhi had been a favorite of many dynasties and rulers in the past. Due to this, the heritage and culture of Delhi has influences of various ethnicities. One part is Old Delhi and the other half is New Delhi. Old Delhi is known for its architectural wonders that brilliantly depict the tales of its bygone era. On the other hand, the new face of Delhi has modern infrastructure that talks about the urban delights of the city.
As you would be done with the breakfast, head on for a city tour. In this, you would be visiting some of the most popular attractions of Old and New Delhi. Start with the visit to Raj Ghat and Jama Masjid.
Situated on the banks of Yamuna River, Raj Ghat is the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi. In the center of the complex, lies a black marble platform, which is the actual cremation sight. The complex has a vast expanse of greenery that includes trees planted by global personalities like Queen Elizabeth II and USA president Eisenhower.
On the other hand, Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosques in India. The mosque was built by great Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Made up off red sandstone and marble, the mosque is an aesthetic example of Persian style of architecture.
Post lunch, you would be visiting the other attractions of Delhi. It includes trip to Humayun's tomb (built during Mughal rule) and Qutub Minar (built during Sultanate rule). Both of these structures hold great significance in the architectural heritage of Delhi. Guests would also be driven past buildings that are the crux of Indian political system cum major tourist attractions. It includes the Parliament house, President's residence and Diplomatic enclaves.
Day 03: Delhi to Agra
Early morning breakfast, we will drive to Agra, along one of the India's finest freeways. On arrival at Agra, check into your hotel.
After wash and change, we visit the wonderful "Taj Mahal" a symbol of love built by great Mughal emperor Shahjahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and took 22 years and a huge work force of 20000 skilled laborers to build it. Next visit the massive Agra Fort and Itmad-Ud-Daula Tomb.
Day 04: Agra – Fatepur Sikri – Jaipur
Today we will drive to our next destination Jaipur, enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri. It is also known as The Ghost Town and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1570 and served as the short lived capital till 1585. Continue our drive to Jaipur known for its culture and traditions and the people here are warm hearted who are always ready to welcome tourists. Jaipur is the main gateway to Rajasthan and the capital as well. On arrival check in at the hotel and overnight stay is in Jaipur.
Day 05: Jaipur
The significant Amber Fort is one of the major attractions of Jaipur Sightseeing so this morning take a visit to the hill fort of Amber, popular way to reach the vibrant fort entrance is by an elephant back ride like a royal king or queen. The breathtaking palaces, complexes, halls, pavilions and Gardens at Amber fort will leave you enthralled. The rest of the day can be used for visiting The City Palace & Museum that is a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Another remarkable monument of Jaipur is The Observatory built between 1727-34 AD is noteworthy collection of conventional astronomical instruments. The spectacular Hawa Mahal or the Palace of winds is a pyramid shaped monument built in 1799 AD. It allowed the royal families women to see the street procession with 953 small niche windows made in it. Overnight stay is at Jaipur.
Day 06: Jaipur – Jodhpur
Today morning, we head for a long drive towards our next destination – Jodhpur. Founded by Rao Jodha in 1459 it is now the second largest city of Rajasthan state. It is called as a "Blue City" which is looks like an oasis in the vast dessert. On arrival check in at the hotel and overnight stay is in Jodhpur.
Day 07: Jodhpur
Jodhpur is an enchanting tourist destination that offers a number of glittering sites to visit, and we proceed towards them after breakfast. The city tour begins with the visit to the main attraction here "Mehrangarh Fort" the gigantic fort towers over the blue city. It is a terrific structure made up of fawn coloured sandstone with a mix of history. Inside the fort walls is a palace complex and network of courtyards that showcase an example of Rajput architecture. It houses a museum with that has an amazing collection of Indian royalty accessories, howdahs, miniatures and armoury. Jaswant Thada is our next stop which is the white marble memorial of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Later in the evening stroll around the clock tower and local markets. Overnight stay is in Jodhpur.
Day 08: Jodhpur – Delhi (flight)
Following a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, get an assisted transfer to the airport to board your flight to Delhi. Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Delhi and get transfer to your pre-booked hotel. Spend the day exploring the city at your own.
Day 09: Delhi – Leh (flight)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Leh. On reaching at Leh airport, get transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day is free to adjust yourself in the weather. Overnight stay is at Leh
Day 10: Leh
Today we will proceed for the sightseeing tour of Leh while enjoying the untouched scenic beauty of the monasteries called Gompa. Visit the Sankar Gompa monastery. Explore the Leh Palace built by the king Sengge Namgyal in the 17th century, here the museum consist of all the dresses, ornaments, weapons etc of the king. Visit the Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks, being located on the height of is 4267 metres, it offers a great view of Leh town, moreover sunrise and sunset can be worth seeing. Evening is at leisure to explore the vicinity at your own.
Day 11: Leh – Hemis - Thiksey – Shey Palace – Leh
Hemis is one of the famous small towns of Leh, known for the Hemis monastery, where the rare collection of antiques, Thangkas, stupas can be seen. We will also visit the Hemis National Park located near the Monastery. Our next stop is Shey, the old capital of Ladakh. There is a huge statue of Shakyamuni Buddha gilded in gold, with a large lamp made in silver burning in front of the statue. From there we travel to Thiksey Gompa, a multi-tiered monastery built on the hills, above the village. The monastery has a gold plated statue of Maitreya Buddha or the Buddha of the future. Evening we return back to our hotel in Leh
Day 12: Leh – Khardongla – Nubra Valley
Today we will drive to the Nubra Valley, also known as the 'valley of flowers', enroute we will pass through the highest motorable road Khardungla Pass, which is at the hight of 5602 mts. On reaching at Nubra Valley, check-in to your camp, and enjoy the weather.
Day 13: Nubra Valley
Today proceed to visit the Diskit Monastery, which is one of the oldest monasteries, and known for the giant statue of Maitreya Buddha, the tallest in Ladakh region. We will also visit the Hunder know for the double Humped camels on white sand dunes. Overnight in Nubra Valley
Day 14: Nubra Valley – Leh
Today we will drive back to Leh, and spend the time at leisure to explore the town at your own. vernight stay at hotel
Day 15: Leh – Dah Hanu – Lamayuru - Uletokpo
Today we will drive to Uletokpo enroute visiting the community of Dah Hanu at Aryan village, to explore these villages and community here. From here, continue our drive back to Uletokpo enroute visitng Lamayuru monastery maintained by the Red Hat sect of Buddhism. 150 monks live here in this monastery. It houses a rare collection of thangas, statues, artifacts. Evening stay at Uletokpo
Day 16: Uletokpo – Alchi – Likir - Leh
Today we will start the day by visit to Alchi, only monastery built on the flat land, continue our visit and drive to Likir monastery. From here continue our drive to Leh and check into your hotel. Overnight stay at Leh
Day 17: Leh – Delhi (flight)
Today after a leisurely breakfast, transfer to the Leh airport to board your flight to Delhi, on arrival; check into your hotel for rest and relaxation. Overnight stay at Delhi
Day 18: Delhi – Departure
Transfer to the Delhi international airport to board your onward flight back home.
