Chittorgarh Tourism
Chittorgarh is a city in Rajasthan, the land of kings. It was named by Chitrangada Mori, the ruler of Mauryan clan and stands in the south eastern side of Rajasthan, 233km from Ajmer. The city was built on the banks of Berach and Gambhiri rivers. The place has witnessed several glorious battles fought by the royal families. The palaces and the forts, which are a symbol of grandeur, nobility and brilliance, also help to increase the elegance of the place. However, the city also consists of vast forest regions which are filled with various flora and fauna and also has undulating hills from the Aravali ranges. This place is a treat for those who have a keen interest in seeking knowledge about history. Chittorgarh, as a part of Rajasthan, attracts the maximum number of tourists throughout the year, both Indian as well as foreigners. The best time to visit the city is the winter, from September to March, as the weather is generally pleasant with the temperature fluctuating between 05⁰C-30⁰C, however the summer months, from April to July, are too hot and should be avoided when the temperature fluctuates between 23⁰C-43⁰C. The main attraction of the place that stretches far and wide is the Chittorgarh Fort. Chittorgarh also attracts tourists for its forests like the Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary and the Sitamata Wildlife Sanctuary, which are home to various kinds of animals and flowers and can amuse the nature lovers.
