Ghanerao Tourism
Ghanerao Castle is a marble and red sandstone royal castle which is beautiful, magnificent and displays the lavish lifestyle of the erstwhile royalty. Located at 140 km from Udaipur city, Ghanerao Castle is in the small town of Ghanerao. Gopal Das Rathore, a valorous Rajput soldier of Mewar built this castle in 1606. The royal castle of Ghanerao has marvelous Rajput architecture.
Its walls engraved with many miniature paintings. School of Ghanerao Paintings is still functioning in the village which employs mainly local artisans. Carved lattice work and huge chandeliers enhance its beauty.
Visitors can also see the cannonball strike marks on the boundary walls of the castle which tells the unfavorable times of the former era.
Ghanerao castle has an attractive pavilion in the central court wherein the musicians would perform.
Cenotaphs of former rulers also a maot attraction nearby castle. Ghanerao is the only village in Rajasthan which boasts of 33 Baoris. Now converted to a heritage hotel, this castle provides a true Rajasthani touch to its visitors.
Location of Ghanerao
Ghanerao is a small town which is situated in the Indian state of Rajasthan. A part of Pali district, the place is famous for its scenery, wildlife and heritage.
It is situated at the base of a small hill, on the top of which there is a large sculpture of an elephant. One of the temples on the hill is dedicated to Hinglaj Mata and the other to Baijnath Mahadev. On another hill, there is a shrine which is devoted to Neminath. In the village, the temple of Adinath is said to be very old.

Gajananda Temple
Gajananda Temple is a very prominent tourist attraction of Rajasthan which is dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Interior of this temple has marble sculptures of the Lord with his wives; Ridhi (who represents wealth) and Sidhi (who represents religious ability).
Ghanerao Royal Castle
Ghanerao Royal Castle is situated on the way between Udaipur to Jodhpur at a distance of about 6 kms from Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary. It is very charming and looks little old but is very refreshing and beautiful.
Ghanerao Jungle Lodge or Bagha Ka Bagh
It is situated on the edge of Aravali Hills in Rajasthan, Ghanerao Jungle Lodge has modern rooms with a cable TV, a restaurant and 24-hour reception.
Laxmi Narain ji Temple
Laxmi Narain ji Temple is a very popular tourist attraction in Ghanerao.
Muchhal Mahavir Temple
It is a very famous Jain temple which is at a distance of about 6 kms from Ghanerao. It is the only Jain temple which has statute of Lord Mahavir with a moustache.
Best time to visit Ghanerao
The temperature in summers are very high with a maximum of 42° Celsius. The daily summer minimum temperature is 22° Celsius. In winters the maximum temperature in most low lying areas is 20° Celsius and the minimum is 11° Celsius. Annual total rainfall is around 55 centimeters. The best season to visit Ghanerao is from October till March.

Falna, at a distance of 30 km from Ghanerao, is the nearest railhead which is linked with Udaipur and other places of Rajasthan.
By Road:
Ghanerao is linked with a good network of roads with the other places of the area like Udaipur and Jodhpur.
By Air:
From Ghanerao the nearest airport is Udaipur which is about 110 km far away.
