Dabka Embroidery, Dabka or Dapka is a form of needlework that is done after the fabric has been sewn onto the adda and the chhapai has been finished. For a thorough and fine work on the same piece, at least three to four worker workers are needed. The pattern to be embroidered is first stitched with a thick cotton cord. Then, using an ordinary stitching needle, prefabricated zari thread is looped onto the cord. Flowers, leaves, and India's national bird, the Peacock, are the most common patterns. Even with the smallest size (diameter) of dabka, skilled kaarigars can do french knots.
