Day 01: Arrival in Allahabad
After your arrival in Allahabad airport, you will be duly escorted by our tour representative to your allotted hotel. After checking into the hotel you will be served with a hearty and healthy meal which will enable you to carry on for the rest of the day’s tour. The sightseeing for this day will involve visiting the Swaraj Bhawan, which is the ancestral home for the Nehru family and the whole museum is decorated with their memorabilia, including Gandhiji’s charkha, lesser seen photographs as well as their personal belongings. Then you will be taken to the Someshwar Mahadev Temple or commonly known as Somnath mandir. Being the oldest and one of the most important of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples dedicated entirely to Lord Shiva the site is always flanked with Hindu pilgrims. Finally, you will be taken back to your hotel for a delicious traditional meal and an overnight stay.
Day 02: Allahabad – Ayodhya (168km / 5 Hours)
Next day, early in the morning you will be taken for a holy dip in the Triveni Sangam, which is the confluence point of three rivers – Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. A single refreshing dip in the water is said to rid you of all your mortal sins. Post the holy dip you will be headed straight for the holy city of Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. On reaching there you will be checked into a hotel where you will freshen up, rest for a bit then head out for a city tour. This local tour will cover Dashrath Bhawan, which is believed to be the same place where Lord Ram’s father’s palace existed. It houses a shrine consisting of idols for Ram, Lakshman and Sita. It is said that Lord Ram spent his childhood and formative years in this very place. Your next stop will be at Kanak Bhawan, which is also popularly known as Kanak sone ki mandir, it is called so because of the extremely richly ornamented idols of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita present here. After witnessing the grand and majestic beauty you will then be taken to Hanuman Garhi Mandir, a pious and the most popular Hanuman temple in all of North India. As the draws to an end you will then be taken back to your hotel for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 03: Ayodhya – Varanasi (204km / 6 Hours)
After having a wholesome breakfast early in the morning, you will be taken to the beautiful and awe-inspiring city of Varanasi, located comfortably along the banks of River Ganga. Upon arrival, you will be checked into your hotel and then proceed for a local sightseeing tour of the city. This will start off with a visit to the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir, which was established during the early 1500s by the famous Hindu poet and preacher, Saint Goswami Tulsidas. The temple is thronged by dedicated devotees of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman chanting Hanuman Chalisa and Sunderland evoking a spirit of peacefulness in the area. Next stop is Birla Mandir, which houses the tallest temple tower (taller than Qutub Minar) and is devoted to Lord Shiva. This temple is the exact copy of the original Vishwanath Temple and draws a huge number of devotees on a daily basis. As evening time draws near, you will be escorted to the Dashashwamedh Ghat, which is the main ghat in Varanasi, located on the River Ganga. Also considered as the most important and spectacular ghat, you will witness one of the most magnificent Ganga Aarti like never before. After this, you will be taken back to your hotel for night stay and dinner.
Day 04: Varanasi – Bodhgaya (255km / 6 Hours)
The next morning after a hearty breakfast you will be taken to the extremely famous temple of Lord Shiva in Varanasi, Kashi Vishwanath. This temple has repeatedly been mentioned in various Hindu scriptures and has gone under a number of destruction and reconstruction in the past. After the temple visit you will be taken to the holy city of Bodhgaya, en route the Banaras Hindu University which is the largest residential universities in all of Asia, hence a visit here is not an opportunity to be missed out on. On reaching Bodhgaya you will be checked into your hotel for dinner and night stay.
Day 05: Bodhgaya – Gaya – Varanasi
Early next morning you will be taken to Gaya, which is approximately 14 km away. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to the majestic Vishnupad Mandir, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Located along the River Falgu this temple houses the footprint of Lord Vishnu, which is incised into a block of basalt. After experiencing the grandness of Vishnupad Mandir you will then be taken to the holy river Phalgu or also known as Falgu. Considered as an extremely holy site for Hindus it is believed that the very first pilgrim offerings were made (for the souls of their ancestors) at this very place.
After an eventful day, our tour representatives will escort you back to Bodhgaya railway station from where you will continue your journey towards an onward destination.
