Kala Gaura Bhairav Temple in Sawai Madhopur is located on a hill-top and lies in the city-center. It is believed that whoever visits this temple get his/her wish fulfilled. The temple is dedicated to Bhairav brothers; Gaura Bhairav and Kala Bhairav. Other than the deity of main lord, there are idols of Goddess Durga, Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha installed inside. One unique thing about the temple is that the main deity is installed at the entrance, unlike other Hindu temples, which have the main deity installed inside. It is said that King Hammir visited the temple and wished victory in his war with Alaud-din-Khilji. He said that he would devote everything to the lord, if he wins, and he did.
The temple is dedicated to Bhairav brothers namely Kala Bhairav and Gaura Bhairav. The idols of both the brothers are placed inside the temple. As per the legend, when Alauddin Khilji attacked Ranthambore, the King Hammir made a wish that he will give away with all that he had if he won the battle. Hammir won the battle but he was beheaded after the victory. People considered it as the curse of the Bhairava and thus established the temple here.
There is a certain pattern about all other temples in Sawai Madhopur that the idol of the deity is located right at the entrance of the temple. But unlike those, the idols in Kala Gaura Bhairav are placed at the main shrine. Other than the idols of Bhairava brothers, idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga are also placed inside the temple. The temple have very tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. There is also a popular belief about this temple is that if you send invitation to Lord Ganesha about any ceremony in your house; the ceremony will go off well.
Most of the interiors have ancient art work and are antique in nature. The walls are painted with various murals and other mythical characters. In fact the architectures are able to create a sense of spirituality among the devotees.

Ranthambore National Park remains open for visitors as per safari timing from the 1st October to the 30th June every year. The park remains closed from July to September for visitors due to rainy season. The best time to visit Ranthambore is from November to April when the weather.
