Albert Hall Museum, also known as Government Central Museum is situated in Ram Niwas Garden, Jaipur. In this beautiful garden, there is also a zoo which adds to its attractiveness. Oldest among all the museums in the state, about 131 years, it comprises a unsurpassed and unique collection Rajasthan Miniature Paintings, Traditional Royal Costumes, Woodwork And Sculptures. Some says that it was intended as a town hall, but converted to the oldest museum of Jaipur. Being a gateway from where a series of heritage walks in this city, now it becomes a venue for most of the cultural Albert Hall Museum foundation started from the construction of Albert Hall. It was based on Victoria and founded by Albert in 1876. Its attractive designed is done by Colonel Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob. It was opened in 1887 as a public museum.
In the honor of Prince Albert of Britain who was the husband of Queen Victoria, this beautiful place was named as the ‘Albert Hall Museum’. In 1876, during his tour of the Indian Subcontinent, this museum was built to tempt him to visit the Pink City. Maharaja Ram Singh really wanted the prince to visit the Pink City because due to this visit, their ties to the British Royal Court will be improved and strengthened. He also performed other extravagance like the whole Jaipur city was painted in pink color which was the symbol of welcoming. This tradition continues to be followed through to today.

The nearest railway station is Merta Road Jn railway station, which is at a proximity of 2 kms. You can also book a cab if you want to make your trip more convenient.
Albert Hall in Jaipur remains open from 9:00 Am to 5:00 Pm, on all seven days of the week. Generally, one can see the whole of Albert Hall in 1 hours time.

The best time to visit Albert Hall Museum is from October to March. The weather treats the tourists really well during this period. In the other months, the temperature rises up to 45 degrees and even more than that on some days.
