Ropeway at Samod Jaipur (Not Operating)

Ropeway at Samod Jaipur : You no longer have to keep putting off your visit to Veer Hanuman Temple in Samod near Jaipur just because you don’t want to climb 848 stairs. The ropeway service has been finally launched. It will enable pilgrims and tourists to reach the temple mounted on Samod hills easily. The ropeway will be particularly helpful to elderly devotees. This is the fourth ropeway in the state, built at a cost of nearly Rs 5.5 crore.
The ropeway will be operated by an automatic sensor system. Each trolly will be able to accommodate nine people. Four towers have been set up each having three trollies. It means that 27 people will be able to reach the Veer Hanuman temple at a time. The ropeway will cover the distance of nearly 400 meters in 5 minutes. The booking price is affordable. The fare is Rs 60 per person.
The ropeway project was undertaken by Kolkata-based Conveyor and Rope-Way Service Private Limited.
“People had to climb 848 stairs to reach the temple. Those who can’t climb so many stairs due to old age or physical conditions will no longer have to feel helpless. They can use the newly launched ropeway service. The project cost was about Rs 5.5 crore. It took nearly three years to build the ropeway system,” said a senior administration officer.
