Places to See in Kheechan is a very popular location in Rajasthan which is known especially for bird watching. It is located in the Phalodi region of the Jodhpur area and is a bird watcher’s paradise. It is an important landmark in Rajasthan because for obvious reasons it is believed that Rajasthan is too dry and hostile to sustain any major life form. They will be amazed when they come here as there are more than 15000 birds staying here with Demoiselle Cranes being the major species of birds. There are other migratory birds visiting as well during the winters. It is about 142 km from the city of Jodhpur.
Khichan Bird Sanctuary is located at a distance of 171 kms from Jaisalmer city in the village of Khichan. This natural sanctuary serves as home to three types of birds called Kurjan, Karkara and Kunch that migrate from southwest Europe, Black Sea region, Poland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, North, and South Africa and Mongolia.
