Bagore ki Haveli is a gracious, slightly eccentric 18th-century haveli, set right on the waterfront of Lake Pichola at Gangori Ghat. It was built by Amir Chand Badwa, the Prime Minister of Mewar as a miniature of the City Palace, and has been carefully restored and converted since then into a museum with artefacts collected over the years.
Shri Amarchand Badwa, Mewar’s prime Minter from 1751 to 1778 during reigns of Raj Singh II, Maharana Pratap Singh II, Hamir Singh and Ari Singh, constructed the Bagore Ki Haveli. After the demise of Amarchand Badwa, the haveli was took over by the Royal family of Mewar and was taken over by a family member of the Maharana namely Nath Singh.
Udaipur is a very old city and therefore people must never use their private car for visiting the tourist attractions at Udaipur. The best thing to do is to take an auto in Udaipur, negotiate with the prices and ask the driver to take you on a tour of this old city. This would be very cost effective and at the same time filled with great fun and enjoyment. Bagore Ki Haveli is a very old part of the Udaipur town but it is at a distance of 4 kilometers from the main city.
The best time to visit Udaipur is during the winter season (September to March). During this time the weather is pleasant with the maximum temperature reaching just around 28.3°C. The mornings, evenings and nights are cool and lovely.
